Another impressive vintage of Estate Pinotage, this one is decidedly riper and more fruit forward than the 2015. The aromatics deliver both savory and sweet notes, primarily plum and blackberry patch in the summer sun. The flavors are of pie! pie! pie! Every kind of pie – primarily blackberry, but boysenberry and cherry, too, with the very soft butter edge of pure pastry. It’s like walking into a bakery and sticking a fork in everything all at once. Decadent and delightful, with a hefty mouthfeel and lingering finish.
