2004 Pinot Noir, Saveria Vineyard – SOLD OUT!

This is our first Pinot Noir – and we couldn’t be more pleased with the results! All of the fruit in this wine came from Saveria Vineyards in the Santa Cruz Mountains AVA. It was punched down by hand during fermentation, and spent 14 months in 100% new French Mercier oak barrels. It was bottled in December of 2005, unfined and unfiltered. This is a deep, brooding Pinot, with a beautiful dark purple color, plenty of body, and a powerful nose. Strawberry and raspberry jam build on the palate and finish with fir tannins and good acidity. The finish is long, pure, and satisfying.

Reviews
“This is a deep, brooding Pinot with slightly jammy flavors recalling, black cherry marmalade that build on the palate and finish with firm tannins and good acidity. Here is a bold Pinot for lovers of big gutsy Syrahs”. –Gerald D. Boyd
